Spring? or not so much......

I'd like to say spring is here but I'm not convinced.  85 degrees on day then 30 that night.  The trees are trying but they may regret blooming so early. Fingers crossed this pear can hold on through the up & down temps.  Sure would like to see some fruit this year.  To tell the honest truth, we have tried to garden for years.  Our success rate has been......not so great.  Mrs. W, never one to give up, has declared this is the year we WILL grow food!  Well....,at least one of us has faith in this endeavor and, in...

What is up with....

...the weather?  I know we are only partially through this winter but, so far,  this has been crazy. Hot one day freezing the next. We won't even talk about the rain.  Got most of the NSSS colors re-stocked.  Whew!  That was a lot of work in just a little over a week.  I'd like to take the credit but it was all the Mrs.  On the home front, we are definitely going to need to do some serious work on the pasture this spring to repair the damage. ...who came by at SAFF in N.C. this past weekend.  I know lots of folks had Halloween plans and other obligations but it was wonderful to see those that did make it by the booth.  The new venue is really nice--less dust and more more air conditioning!  That's always a good thing in my book.  We are doing inventory right now and will be updating the website ASAP.  I do believe we have some Red Eri Silk, Muga Silk and Sari Silk left after the show and that will go live as quick as we know how much is available. ...

Bad News...

As we have always said, we are regular people with regular jobs that pay our regular bills.  In the past, we have always been lucky and never had a problem getting time off for festivals.  I guess this year our luck ran out.  3 days before we were due to hit the road, I received word my leave had been cancelled.  Unreal right?  We hope all the vendors and visitors to the 2015 New York Sheep and Wool Festival have a wonderful weekend of learning, sharing and fiber celecbration.   Little Barn will NOT be at Rhinebeck this year.  ...
