Fall Shows Part 4.....

Posted by Lewis White on

We have been celebrating a couple of "good" things lately.  First, Mrs LB's brother & his wife survived hurricanes Irma & Maria.  Yes, things are difficult but they are alive, together and still have most of a roof over their heads.  We would like to request everyone's continued prayers and support for all the island residents as they attempt to rebuild their lives.  Secondly, we finally got a part for one of our machines.  One year & 10 mths wait but we are repaired, up and running.  Unfortunately, the part did not arrive in time for us to restock every...

Fall Shows Part 3......

I've always loved the look of Jacob sheep.  Nothing commands attention like all those horns. Oh, and the spots....so often with sheep you have spots but you don't really see all of them all the time.  With CVMs, when you shear, all those spots, speckles & stripes are right there in your face.  As the fleece grows out, you lose them in the lock compression, sun bleaching, and dirt that can cling to an uncoated fleece.  Not with Jacobs.  Those spots are shining all the time.  Knowing that when you plan a project you have a good sized amount of...

Fall Shows...

Leaves are beginning to drift to the ground and the fall shows are rapidly approaching.  Little Barn will be attending New York Sheep & Wool in Rhinebeck, N.Y. and SAFF in Fletcher, N.C.  Some of the shows haven't been as busy in the last 3 or 4 years.  This fall we hope to see a lot of folks attending and celebrating all things fleece and fiber.  Let's show that hurricanes & disgusting politics cannot keep sheep & fiber people down! We will be posting to this blog regularly as we begin stocking and packaging for the festivals.  To get things...

I Think I Missed Spring...

I had every intention of keeping a more regular blog this year.  Yeah.....that didn't happen.  Somewhere around the last of April we lost our internet service and spent almost 6 weeks trying to resolve the issue.  Honestly, I've had dental surgery that was easier than trying to get technical support from a cable company.  4 service appointments that ended in "no shows", more calls than I can count, emails to corporate headquarters, completely re-cabling from the road and inside the house.  The problem?  We have a gate on our driveway.  Evidently, according to most utility services you are no longer...
